Outdoor Options to the rescue at children’s hospice

At the request of the gardening industry’s Greenfingers charity, which raises money to improve and provide gardens for children’s hospices across the county, Surrey-based landscaping company Outdoor Options joined an intrepid group of professional landscapers in coming to the rescue of the Chestnut Tree House Hospice near Arundel to create a garden for its patients and their families to enjoy.

Outdoor Options and fellow members of the South Thames region of BALI – the British Association of Landscape Industries – recently donated their time and muscle power to build the garden with materials donated through the charity.

Despite often diabolical weather and having to juggle their own landscape business commitments, the BALI landscapers managed to construct a beautiful new garden in record time, with the help of hospice staff and volunteers.

Outdoor Options’ Managing Director Brian Herbert is proud of the role his company has played in helping to create the garden for this most worthy of causes:

“It was quite a challenge for everyone involved but an extremely rewarding one. Most of the contractors in this project are micro businesses and the owners have, at some time or another during construction, been driving diggers, shifting soil or laying turf alongside their staff and still managed to keep their businesses running! We felt this was a very important project for Outdoor Options to be involved in and we are quietly proud of what we have achieved alongside our BALI colleagues for the children at Chestnut Tree House.”
