Examples of our favourite soft landscaping design projects

One of our favoured Soft Landscaping design projects was the ‘Enchanted Garden’ which exhibited at the RHS Chatsworth Flower Show in 2017. It was designed by Butter Wakefield for the Belmond Hotel group.

The garden created is a timeless, understated space where guests and visitors alike are encouraged to pause and reflect on considered, purposeful planting and design. ‘Belmond Enchanted Gardens’ was created to epitomize the essence of a Belmond experience. Small strands of design, creative simplicity and a sense of romance are reflected throughout the garden, as they are at every Belmond hotel worldwide. - Butter Wakefield.

The idea was to create a garden which would encourage you to pause and reflect on the wider world. The planting scheme was wild in nature and resembled a wildflower meadow. Our goal was to create an outdoor space which was contemplative and very understated. We were delighted to work with the following partners:

In essence, it is a celebration of nature in its purest and most untamed form. The beautiful willow screen acts as a gateway to the enchanted world beyond. We were delighted to win both the RHS Chatsworth Flower Show 2017 Gold Medal, as well as the Show Garden People’s Choice award for this beautiful garden design.
