Stone Terrace and Vegetable Garden
- Holmbury St. Mary
- Designer: Rae Wilkinson
- 12 weeks duration
When first visiting the garden in 2013 our Client’s requests were simple: some more level planting
areas and a bigger terrace, except that the garden had a double slope and so the project evolved from
there.
We engaged Rae Wilkinson and together we started working up a design closely with our Clients
encompassing their ever growing wish list. The result was a very enjoyable process, supported by
flexible Clients, and as a team we were proud to deliver the end result to two very enthusiastic
horticulturalists with a keen eye for design.
The use of low split level retaining walls meant we could create some terraces that afforded Hard
Landscape items such as: stone terraces, a long water feature, a fire bowl seating area, Alitex Glass
House and the all important vegetable garden. Structural planting then assisted with depth and
perspective, before all was softened with colourful seasonal planting.
