HILLSIDE HUF HAUS PROJECT

In late 2009 we were presented with plans for this Huf Haus design by Anthony Paul. The house is set high in the Surrey Hills on a slope and required an approach that blended with the setting but also permitted the change in levels without over extensive structural work.

The solution we worked up with Anthony was to use gabion walling as split-level wings along both sides of the house hiding basement structure and permitting adjoining landscape features.  That in turn permitted flowing Breedon Gravel paths surrounding the house creating casual desire lines through the drifts of perennial swathes of colour and grasses.
